Modeling hydrant
April 4th, 2008At this Maya tutorial, I will exemplify how to modeling hydrant. Actually many ways for modeling hydrant, you can apply revolve or by doing extrude one by one like the one I would do at this tutorial. To water down you understands what I mean, I give name for part of hydrant (sees picture).

1. Create polygon Sphere. Subdivision axis and height 12.

2. Delete undercarriage faces from sphere.

3. Select edges loop at underside sphere, then extrude downwards.

4. Add some edges (sees picture below).

5. Extrude top body, that like picture below.

6. Then, extrude underside to seen like picture below.

7. If it is smooth, result of it’s would as in under this. Result of this like chess pawn. So need to be added loop edges in some side’s body.

8. Picture hereunder is some edges loop which I add. You can add edges loop by your self in some part of body.

9. This is result after I add edges loop.

10. For top body I do extrude.

11. Now changes over hand part. Create cylinder with subdivisions axis 8. Then extrude and result of its like picture hereunder.

12.
This part of hand you can direct install to part of body and group it. But if you wished a few striving you can follow step hereinafter, be deleting faces at part of body like picture below.

13. Tide part of hand to part of body, combine and merge vertexes. Don’t forget to vanish part of hand which will be attached to part of body. The result is like picture below.

14. you can do step 13 for side differ from body.

15. You can add your creation at hydrant which you are created.

16. This the result for modeling hydrant.
