Modeling Human Cartoon

I don’t have concept to create this head. I just using my imagination to create it. I always start create front face if modeling head. First adjust curve degree to linear. Don’t wory with much of curve span we can adjust he curve later. Create side of face and middle of face like in Pic 1.

Add curve for nose and jaw, like in Pic 2.

Add curve for lip. Like in Pic 3.

And add curve for back head and neck.

Now we create the polygon. Go to birail 2 option and change geometry output to polygon. Type: Quad, Tesselation method: General, initial Tesselation controls Number U and Number V: 1. see pic 6.

Start to create polygon, select the curve like in pic 7. up and down curve, left and right curve. And birail 2.

Create polygin for nose. Whit same way like before. And extrude nose area and shaping that nose. See pic 8.

Now create polygon for jaw. See pic 9.

Create polygon for lip. This little bit much working. See pic 10. follow the line color to birail. And shaping the lip.

Now we go to the back head. See pic 11.

Now we close the hole in back head using append to polygon tool and split tool . See pic 12. In step 1, click append to polygon tool and select edge on left side and select right edge (red line). And then using split tool to create edge (green line). Using move tool, select vertex and snap vertex (hold V for snap to vertex) to the upper vertex (yellow line).

And crete polygon for neck. It’s same way like before. See pic 13.

And finaly create ear. This is just simple ear, you just extrude and shaping. See pic 14.

Combine all polygon, merge all vertex (adjust threshold vertex, I always use 0.0010) and normals conform,This our model when smooth it.

You can add hair, eye and eyebrow. This is just simple hair, I just shaping the polygon. And the eye I using cube and same with eyebrow I using cube and shape it following polygon fore head.

And this is our final result for head modeling.

I hope you can learn something from this tutorial. Sorry if I’m not to detail explain this tutorial, but you can improve it by your self. This is not only way to modeling, much way to modeling. I found this way by learning from other peoples and I mix it, and I found the best way for me. Just found your style…….Thanx you
