Auto: In this mode camera controls altogether.
Program AE (P): this mode similar to auto exposure but you still can control ISO, exposure compensation, use AE lock, bracketing etc.
Shutter priority AE (Tv): in this mode you can select shutter speed and camera will calculate aperture to get correct value.
Aperture priority AE (Av): in this mode you can choose aperture and camera will calculate shutter speed to get correct value.
Manual (M): in this mode you can define exposure by selecting aperture and shutter speed.
Auto depth-of-field: in this mode camera automatic controls depth of field.
Portrait: Apertures are kept as large as possible (small F number) to produce a shallow Depth of Field (blurred background).
Landscape: Apertures as small as possible (large F numbers) for the largest depth of field.
Close-up: Aperture is kept to a medium setting to ensure the subject DOF is deep enough but the background is blurred.
Sports: Shutter speed is kept as high as possible to ensure capture of fast moving objects.
Night portrait: Allows for slow shutter speeds combined with flash to illuminate foreground and background.
Flash off: Disables internal and external flash for taking automatic slow exposures.
For connectivity, EOS 1000D provides USB 2.0 (Hi-Speed) mini-B, Video out (PAL / NTSC), and E3 type wired remote control. Memory card which is compatible with this camera is SD and SDHC card. Battery is can you apply for this digital camera is Lithium-Ion LP-E5 rechargeable battery (7.4 V, 1050 mAh). Additional Features which is available is Orientation sensor, and DIGIC III processor.
